Virginia G. Cruz

Virgina G. Cruz, 75, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens. Viewing will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 4 p.m. and Rosary will be at 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Virginia was born on May 27, 1947, to Sylvia G. Lopez and Gabriel Garcia in Bracketville, Texas .Virginia moved to Lubbock in the 1960s and was proud to call Lubbock "home". Virginia worked at Dynamic Foods for 38 years before retiring to spend time with her family. Virginia was a beautiful, caring and loving woman who never knew a stranger. Virginia was also a very hard worker and often wished she had not retired. Virginia will be greatly missed by her family, friends and those who knew her. Virginia always put her family before herself because that was the kind of unselfish and giving woman she was, beautiful inside and out. Virginia loved her family and would do anything for them. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia G. Lopez and Gariel Garcia; two brothers, Gerald Garcia, Henry Garcia, one sister Margie Garcia; grandparents Jose and Odelia Marquez. Virginia is survived by Virginia also, leaves behind two brothers Robert G. Turnbow (Kenny) of Florida and Patrick Garcia of Lubbock, one sister Susie Paiz of Morton, Texas; her three daughters Laura Perez of Dripping Springs, Texas, Irene Garcia (son-in-law Steve), and Cynthia Cruz both of Lubbock, one son Jesse Cruz (daughter-in-law Kelly) of Georgetown, Texas. Virginia’s grandchildren Crystal Martinez and Virginia "Gina" Perez, Dustin Cruz, Alyssa Cruz, Ali Cruz, Adi Cruz, Eric Suarez, Janette Suarez, Isaiah Garcia, Luke Bourdon, Genisia “Nisi" Garcia, Jonah Garcia, Elvino Cruz Grimaldo, Dolly Grimaldo, Sylvia Leal and Geneva Leal, great grandchildren Sariella, Braxton, Lilian, Maddox, Gisi, Ayden, Harlow, Keira, Maxie, Noah, Jai-Lynn, and Jaeton,  a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
