Mrs. Verdie Mae Cornelius, 89, passed away on Friday, January 31st, 2025. Viewing will be held from 10 am to 11 am, Friday, February 14, 2025 at Community Baptist Church and Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Mrs. Verdie Mae Cornelius was born on June 27th, 1935.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Brenda Gail Conley Cornelius.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons Scott Cornelius and Tommy Cornelius, her daughter Terri Ann Cornelius, her sister Odessa Lewis, her brother Biley Joe Wiley, her grandchildren Gabriel Johnson, La Mont Cornelius, Rodney Johnson, Devonte Cornelius, Korienthia Washington, Sariah Cornelius, Kaleb Cornelius, Izaiyha Cornelius, Stevon Cornelius, and Tony Conley, Sr., her great grandchildren Alliana Johnson, Zadan Johnson, Tyree Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Darius Johnson, Isaiah Johnson, Elijah Johnson, Jasmine Hughes, Sha’Quess Conley, Tony Conley, Jr., and La‘Sean Conleyher great-great grandchildren Amelia Johnson, a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
