It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timmy Taylor, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on December 4 2024 at the age of 53. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11 am at First Baptist Church, O'Donnell, TX. Interment will follow at O'Donnell Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary. He was born to Dessie L Hunter, and John O Roddy, Jr. on March 28th of 1971! He attended High School and graduated from Shallowater High School in 1990! He went on to attend Sul Ross University in Alpine TX.
In 1999 he moved to Dallas TX where he lived out the rest of his life. He is known for his infectious laugh, boundless kindness, and love of a good joke, Timmy was a source of joy and light to all who knew him. Beyond the jokes and the laughter, Timmy was a man of deep warmth and generosity. He was the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need, and his family meant the world to him. As a father, he was endlessly supportive, offering wisdom, encouragement, and a listening ear, and always there when it mattered most. His love for his children and grandchildren was evident in everything he did, and his legacy of kindness, humor, and love will live on in them. He also shared a lifelong bond that began in childhood and lasted through the years, a friendship built on laughter, loyalty, and countless shared memories.
From their mischievous adventures as kids to supporting each other through the ups and downs of adulthood, their connection was unwavering. Though their paths may have diverged, the deep love and camaraderie they shared remained a constant, leaving behind a legacy of friendship that will forever be cherished by all.
Timmy is preceded in death by his father John Odies Roddy, Jr., his mother Dessie Lee Hunter, step father Odell Hunter, grandfather James Taylor, and grandmother “Shep” Roddy.
Timmy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his grandmother Eula Frances Taylor of New York, his daughters NyQuisha Gutierrez (Richard) of Lubbock, TX, Jamandra Williams and Ja’Tavia Taylor both of Dallas, TX, his sisters Jacqueline Childers (Patrick) of Levelland, TX, DeAnn Hunter and angelia Hunter both of New Deal, TX, and Tamela Kearns of Las Vegas, his brother Odell Hunter, Jr (Cynthia). of O’Donnell, TX, his special Aunts Vanessa Menton (Judge) and Beatrice Taylor (Forris), his uncles Johnny Taylor (Delorse) and Kevin Taylor, his grandchildren Farrah Gutierrez, Micah Gutierrez, Joseph Gutierrez, Ja’Qualynn Taylor, and Ja’Nayah Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
