Stella LaRuth Hines

Stella LaRuth Hines, 66 of Long Beach, CA formerly of Brownfield, TX, died on Friday, January 19, 2024. Visitations will be held Friday, February 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and celebration of life service will follow at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Brownfield, TX under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.

Stella LaRuth Hines was born on April 12, 1957 in Brownfield, Texas to Jessie Hines and Mary Aileen Brown.

Stella received her early education in Texas until moving to California where she graduated from Compton High School in 1975 and furthered her education at Los Angeles Southwest College earning her Associates degree in 1978. Soon after graduating, Stella gained employment at Kraco, Inc. as a secretary, where she later retired after 25 years of service.

To know Stella is to know she loved spending time with her family, crafting and enjoying good food. Stella was kind, loving,  and selfless spending any spare time she had to help others around her. She will be greatly missed.

Stella spent a great deal of time with the love of her life and special friend, Mr. Jessie Gardner.

Stella was the fifth of ten siblings, five of whom preceded her in death, brothers Jim, Robert, Tommy, and Charles, and one sister Elaine, parents Jessie Hines and Aileen Brown, and special friend Jessie Gardner.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four siblings Patricia Kemp of Los Angeles, CA, Isaac Hines of San Bernardino, CA, Laverne Mann (Michael) of Long Beach, CA, and John Hines (Toi) of Lithonia, GA, honorary aunt Warleen Jones, sister-i laws, Denise Hine and Leatrice Hines, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
