Shassidy Nicole Harris

Shassidy Nicole Harris, age 39, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023, at her home after a courageous battle with lupus and other health conditions. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Church of Christ. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. She was born to Vanessa M. Smith and Craig A. Harris on July 10, 1983, in Lubbock, Texas. She attended Wheatley elementary, Dunbar Junior School, and ultimately graduated from Monterey High School in 2002. She was employed at Kidz Kare 2, until September 2022, when her health would no longer allow her to work. She had a special love and understanding of children, and it was felt by many. All the kids loved her and would fondly call her “Ms. Sassy.” Besides spending time with her family, Shassidy enjoyed cooking, playing games, and shopping. Shassidy was a dedicated mother, a loving daughter, and an amazing sister. She had many friends and acquaintances whose lives she touched with her generosity and passion of life. Shassidy is preceded in death by her father, Craig A. Harris; maternal grandmother, Eddie Lois Robison; paternal grandparents, Vertia Mae Harris, Robert Lee Harris; and nephew, D’Morea Q. Robison. Shassidy leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Vanessa M. Smith; daughter, Amoree Cummings; sons, Alexander Harris and Kristofer Cummings; sisters, De’Quisha Griffin (Jay) and Monica Walker  (Damario); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
