Ryan Porter

Ryan Porter, 17, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Bethel AME Church. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.  Ryan Alton Porter entered the world on April 19, 2006, in Lubbock, TX, born to Sarah Small and Alton Porter.  Ryan embarked on a cross-country journey at the age of 2, relocating to California alongside his mother and older sister. His early schooling years were spent in public school until the first grade when his mother, Sarah, took on the role of his homeschool teacher. At the tender age of 7, Ryan showcased remarkable skateboarding talents, dedicating himself to the hobby until the age of 14. Adventure seemed to be ingrained in him from birth, shaping the vibrant and dynamic spirit that defined his life. He is survived by his mother Sarah Small (James), his siblings Amari Upshaw, Judah Small, Mackynzie Small, and Ce’Onna Small, his father Alton Porter, siblings Jazell Porter, Zakydria Porter, Kaegan Porter, and Alton Porter, IV, along with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
