Ruth Evelyn Caraway, 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 11 am at Lyons Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Ruth Evelyn Caraway was born December 31, 1958, in Sherman, TX to the late Bake and Rosena Sadler.
Ruth moved to Sacramento, CA after the loss of her husband, Roy Lampkins. She was a member of St. John’s Church for 15 years. She served on the usher board.
Ruth returned back to Lubbock to take care of mother Rosena Sadler. She reconnected and married Charles Caraway. They were married for 30 years.
Ruth retired from Methodist Hospital after 10 years as a certified nurse’s aide.
Ruth was a member of Lyons Chapel Baptist Church for 30 years. She served on the usher board.
Ruth was called to join her Lord and Savior on March 12, 2025, because of Ruth’s strong faith in God, her family and friends will take comfort in knowing that she is now resting comfortably with our God and Savior.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Caraway, her five brothers Nathaniel, Authur, Shird, Albert Henderson, and R. B. Sadler, her four sisters Virginia Stone, Mary Ludd, Gertrude Williams, and Betty Henderson.
Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters Stephanie Sadler, Kala Dillon, and Twila Nicholas, her grandchildren Roy Collins, DeVoyea Collins, Da’Lai Dillon, and Kyle Dillon, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
