Rosemary Elouise Hobby, 56, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Celebration of life Service will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Praise Center Ministries. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Griffin Mortuary from 4 p.m to 6 p.m. Rosemary Elouise Hobby was called home to rest in God’s loving arms on February 10, 2024. Rosemary was born in Roswell, NM to Junior Hunter and Laura Lee Hobby on December 12, 1967. She graduated from Goddard High School; she had a love for track while there she broke the record in the 100 meter dash.
Rosemary moved to Amarillo, TX, where she worked for Levi’s until they closed. She then went to work at Denny’s where she became General Manager. She worked there until she became ill. She later moved to Lubbock, TX to be closer to family.
Rosemary was an independent, strong, loving, and caring woman, who would give her last to anyone in need. She was a woman with great perseverance never giving up no matter what challenges she was faced with. She was a mother to many. She will be remembered for always keeping it real.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her biological parents Junior Hunter and Laura Lee Hobby, her adopted parents Pete and Mary Lee Hobby, and her brother Curtis Hobby.
She leaves to cherish her memory boyfriend Danny Thomas “Bo”, her sons Gregery Jim, Sr. (Jennifer) and Gary Hobby (Tenora), her daughters Vickie Hobby (Stacie) and Brettni Jones, her brother Pete Hobby, her sister Samantha Finch, aunt Mary Hernandez, niece Laura Hobby, her grandchildren Rickie Jim, Termone Burgess, Jr., Gregery Jim, Jr., Rosemary Jim, Alana Jim, Olivia Jim, Laura Jim, Nakitrian Hobby, Margaret Jim, Gary Jim and Naki’yah Hobby, and a host of other relatives and friends.
