RONNIE CHARLES CLEMONS, 74, departed this life on Friday, November 22, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 11am at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery, Slaton. Visitations will be held Friday, November 29, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary,
RONNIE CHARLES CLEMONS was born in Lubbock, Texas, in 1950 to the parents of Tyler Clemons and Roecenia Clemons. He was raised in Slaton, Texas, and attended Evans High School. He graduated from Slaton High School. Ronnie enlisted in the United States Army from 1972 to 1975, based in Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ronnie retired from Excel Energy, formerly known as SPS, servicing the South Plains area for nearly 30 years.
RONNIE married Ellen Phenix on June 2, 1978, in Slaton, Texas. They raised two sons, Kalvin and Bradley Clemons; together, they built a life of shared joys and triumphs, leaving behind a legacy that resonates through the generations of Clemons family members. They were faithful Mount Olive Baptist Church members for well over 50 years, serving under the leadership of Pastor Peoples, who led generations of Clemons and Parker family members. Ronnie was a devoted participant in the 8:00 am service and will be greatly missed by the local neighborhood and community. His kindness, funny humor, and positive attitude will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ronnie touched many people's lives in the Slaton community, and his legacy will continue to inspire others.
RONNIE was preceded in death by his parents, Tyler and Roecenia Clemons, and his brother, Tyree Clemons.
RONNIE leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Ellen, devoted sons Kalvin and Bradley, daughter-in-love Taren; loving grandchildren Adriene and Mark Galmore, Kalon Clemons, Avery Clemons, and Anderson Clemons; and one great-granddaughter, Aubree Galmore; dear sister Patricia ‘Fruity’ and Walter Cooper; his brother Tyler Jr., Evelyn Clemons; and mother-in-law, Mae Ella Ross; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
