Robert White, Jr.

Robert White, Jr., 87, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 3, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Free Spirit Church of God. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Robert White, Jr. began his life on July 11, 1936, to the parentage of Robert White, Sr. and Hattie Felton White in Falls County. They later moved to Lubbock in 1946. At an early age Robert attended Lubbock Public Schools and as time went by and he grew older he met and married the love of his life, Margaret Felton Wilson and to this union five children were born. Robert was a father, friend, and a hard worker who loved his family. Robert’s hobbies were fishing and raising hogs. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He worked at Goodyears Tire and the Hid House in Abernathy. Robert loved his family and family were important to him. Robert will truly be missed. Robert is preceded in death by his mother Hattie Felton White, father Robert White, Sr., wife Margaret White, daughter Beverly White, granddaughter Cathy White,  grandson Preston White, three brothers A. J. White, Ted White, and Oscar White, two sisters, Louise Lee and Odessa Thomas. Robert leaves to cherish his memory; his two son, Larry White (Charlene) and Bobby White (Dematrece); two daughters, Linda Mathis and Sheila White Brown (Roy); three sisters, Mary Lee Tucker, Birdella White, and Vera Joyce; one brother, Fred White (Lucy) all of Lubbock, TX; 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 46 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
