Dr. Robert A. Pillow, IV, 78, passed away on Sunday, April 6th, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, April 15th, 2025, at 2 pm at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Robert A. Pillow was born in Nashville, Tennessee October 4th, 1946 to Dr. Robert A. Pillow, III and Rosella Pillow. He moved to Lubbock with his parents and siblings in 1953. He attended Ella Iles Elementary, Dunbar Jr. Sen. High School and graduated in 1964. He left Lubbock to attend Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. After graduation, he went on to Meharry Medical College when he received a degree in dentistry.
He met and married Barbara Adams and they produced the first son, Robby. After graduation, he moved back to Lubbock and went into private practice with his father, Dr. Robert A. Pillow, III. After his first marriage, he married his childhood sweetheart, Rose Pendgraft, they produced a son, Bryan Wayne (Alias B.W.). After a long marriage to Rose, he moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and worked with a friend in another field. He was later united in marriage to Carol Ann Rogers, who departed this life prior to him.
Dr. Robert loved all types of sports, even to the point of watching golf on tv. He loved playing chess and was a chess champion in College and had a great sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his father Dr. Robert A. Pillow, III, his mother Rosella Pillow, his brother Barry G. Pillow, his grandfather and grandmother Ben and Laura Lavallais, his nephew Adam Pillow.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Rose Pendgraft Pillow, his daughters Jana Dunagin and Karla Sneed, his sons Robert A. Pillow, V “Robby”, Bryan W. Pillow, James Hill, Jr., and Kristopher Pillow, his sisters Rose Davidson and Cheryl A. Dade, his brothers Clifton A. Pillow “Tony” and Bruce a. Pillow, his grandchildren William Everett, Deanna Destinee, BreAunna, Derwin, Jr., Adrianna, Elijah, Jonah, Jacob, and Kharter, nieces Channon R, Dade, Monica Pillow, Aurreana J. Pillow, and Elizabeth Overbey, his nephews Larry L. Davidson ‘Monty”, Lyonell L. Davidson “Duke”, Barry A. Pillow “Little Barry” and Jacoby Pillow, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He will surely be missed by and loved by all of his family and friends.
