Ollie Marie Dunn-Garner, 74, passed away Thursday February 9, 2023. Celebration of Life Services will be held Friday, February 17th at 2 pm at South Park Baptist Church 2201 82nd Street. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the directions of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Thursday, February 16th, 2023, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Ollie Garner was born January 12, 1949, to Mattie Lee Dunn and Ollie Dunn in Hearns, Texas. She attended South Plains College studying for an Associates in Human Science. Ollie was an active member in her community and loved giving back. She loved writing books, reading her bible and watching westerns. She is preceded in her death by her mother, Mattie Lee Dunn, her father, Ollie Dunn, her son, Shadricke Darnell Taylor, her daughter in law, Wendy Ellen Taylor, her brother, Johnnie Lee Dixon, her brother, Ralph Dunn and her sister, Gladys Oages. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Lawrence Bernard Garner; six sons, Melvin Douglas Taylor Jr (Dianne); Rodricke Deshawn Taylor (Kristina); Lawrence Garner Jr (Roshana); Christopher Garner; Jamal Davis; Ronnie Sloan; three daughters, Trenesha Taylor; Jasmine Gray; Rhonda Wilkerson (Lenny). She also leaves behind her sisters Faye Brown; Sarah Jean Young, Mamie Henry and brothers Benny Dunn; Fred Dunn and Birdell Dunn and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
