Olivia Thompson

Mrs. Olivia Conner Thompson, 81, gained her wings on Sunday, September 29, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 1 pm at Divine Love Baptist Church. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Olivia was born on March 1, 1943 to Charlsey Mae English Harris and Rufus Conner in Lubbock, TX. She joined church at an early age. She was a Baptist. She attended Mt. Gilead Baptist Church as a child, later on in her adult life she became a member of Faith Tabernacle under the leadership Pastor James Clark and Holy Trinity under the leadership of Pastor Roy Rogers. Olivia and her husband ran a neighborhood candy store. She worked 40 years for Methodist Hospital as a dietary aide in the kitchen. She was a loving and caring mother who never heard her say a hurtful word to anyone. She was truly a woman of God. May she rest in Heaven and may God bless her soul.

Olivia is preceded in death by her husband Earl Thompson, her mother Charlsey M. Harris, her father Rufus Conner, her sons Earl Preston Cheeks and Mark Anthony Conner, her niece Misty Harris, her brothers Bobby Joe Kirvens and Harold Harris.

Olivia is survived by her sons Bernard Conner, Micheal Conner (Missy), and Terrance Conner, her sister Evonne Rogers (Pastor Roy), her grandchildren Denisha Morrison, Dariaus Cheeks, Preston Cheeks, Bernard Roberts, Jr., Donte Roberts, Aaron Conner, Sylvia Childress, De’errick Conner, Sr., Christopher Mitchell, Darneesha Mitchell, Rilee Conner, and Zaniyiah Conner, great grandchildren Gavin Roberts, Aimya Roberts, Damiyaah Richard Roberts, Caleb Roberts, Breanna Cheeks, Justen Gonzalez, Antonio Cheeks, Norah Morrison, Errian Conner,  De’errick Conner Jr., Amiryana Johnson, and Robert Moore, her niece Nichelle Conner, her nephews Shelton Williams, Clayton Morris, Floyd Alan Harris, and Shane Harris, and a host of other relatives and friends.
