Morris Wayne Holder, 64, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 1 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Morris was born on October 15, 1958, the third child to the parents of Aubrey Holder and Faye Whitten. He attended schools in Vernon, Texas. He later moved to Lubbock, Texas. He was self-employed and owner of Ice Cream Scrap Iron and Metal, Inc. He enjoyed working and spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Aubrey Holder, Sr.; brothers, Atron Holder, Larry Holder, Joseph Holder, Roger Allen, and Brent Allen. He leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Dawn Duncan-Holder; mother, Faye Douglas; daughter, Kadijsha Holder; step-children, Tangy (Melton) Mitchell, Patricia Thomas, Tommy (Mary) Mitchell, Jr., Trenton Duncan, Traevon Ray, and Jerremy Ray; sisters, Sharon Holder, Leticia Holder, Saundra Allen, and Helen Carr; brothers, Marvin Holder and Aubrey Holder, Jr.; sixteen grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
