Minister Thomas Harris, 73, departed this life on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11 am at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Minister Thomas William Harris was born on May 28, 1951, in Lubbock County to Cleophus Harris and Dollie M. Harris.

Thomas accepted Christ as his Lord and Master at an early age and continued to work diligently in the church. He was educated in Lubbock County and graduated from Levelland High School. Thomas continued his education at South Plains College, Levelland, Texas and completed his studies and became a licensed certified welder.

Thomas met his first love and married Janie Phillips and to this union two children were born. Thomas worked for the City of Lubbock until he joined the Air Force. He finished his tour and returned home to settle down and live in Lubbock. He continued to serve God’s Army and became a licensed minister under the leadership of his father, Pastor Cleophus Harris.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Cleophus Lee Harris and Dollie Mae Ruth Harris, his sisters Ruthie Mae Harris and Helen Fitzgerald, his brother C. L. Harris, his daughter TaTaisha Harris, his nieces Charlotte Roberson Cass and Lisa Harris White.

Thomas leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son Isaac Harris, his sisters Jossie Harris Lethridge, Clarissa Harris Roberson, and Doris Harris Harris, his grandchildren Larissa Nicole Harris, Briana Wilson, Chris Wilson, and Tyanna Wilson, his nieces Portia Lethridge, Gail Harris Fisher, Joy Harris, Perisseria Harris Woodruff, and Kendra Harris Benson (Tory), his nephews Billy Harris, Jr. Todd Harris (Brandy), Dan Harris (Effie), Kevin Lethridge, David Roberson (Angie), Daniel Roberson (Julia), Damian Roberson (Samantha), Norris Harris, II, and Isaac Harris, a host of other relatives and friends.
