Michael McGale Phillips, Jr.

Michael McGale Phillips, Jr. better known as “Mikey”, 27, passed away on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, January 17th, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Church of the Nations. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Michael was born on January 30th, 1997, in Lubbock, TX to Michael Phillips, Sr. and Sandra Phillips. Michael livedin Lorenzo, TX his entire life. Michael graduated from Lorenzo High School, where he was a great student athlete. After graduation Michael joined the workforce as a farmer. He was extremely proud of what he did and enjoyed driving tractors. In his free time he enjoyed playing with his daughters, playing basketball with his nieces and nephews, lifting weights, and hanging out with his friends. 

Michael had a smile that would light up a room and he never met a stranger. He was a very giving young man and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. 

Michael’s life was tragically cut short on January 2nd, 2025 at only 27 years old. 

Michael is preceded in death by his father Michael Phillips, Sr., grandmothers Hattie Henry and Mary Jones, grandfathers Edward Phillips and Freeman Jones.

Michael is survived by, his mother Sandra Phillips, two daughters Malaya Phillips and Mahveli Phillips, his siblings Don Person, Kimela Randles, Kamesha Smith Adrian Wilburn, Latasha Phillips, Jasmin Peeples and husband Eric, and Dalys Phillips, and a numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and the entire community of Lorenzo, TX.

                                                                   Mikey will forever be missed by his family and friends.
