Mary Kathyrn Lacy-Rodgers

Mary Kathyrn Lacy-Rodgers, 67, departed this life on Sunday, September 17th, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 29th, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery, Slaton under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Mary Kathyrn Lacy-Rodgers was born December 27, 1955, to Roy and Margie Lacy in Las Cruces, NM.  She was their firstborn and moved to Slaton, TX a few years later where she grew up, went to church, sang in the choir, and graduated High School.  In 1973, she married Donnie Trotty Rodgers where they later had two children, Danyel Rodgers, and Donnie Rodgers II.  She moved to Longview, TX in the 90’s until she was returned to Ft. Worth in the 2010’s until her passing.
She is preceded in her death by her husband Donnie Trotty Rodgers, son Donnie Rodgers II, mother and father Elder Roy and Margie Lacy, brother Clifford Lacy, and two sisters, Cindy Jean White and Debra Lacy.  She is survived by her Daughter Danyel Rodgers (Marcus Jordan) of Ft. Worth, TX, sister Janice Lacy of Houston, TX, four brothers, John Lacy (Marsha) of Dallas, TX, David Lacy of Lubbock, TX, James Lacy (Angela) of Slaton, TX, and Geryling Lacy (Patricia) of Lubbock, TX, grandchildren Laquadrick Nelson, Donnie Rodgers III, Vickeya Rodgers, Marquise Jordan, Jalyrice Rodgers, and Danesha Jordan, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
