Martin Ortega, Jr.

October 27, 1973 — June 21, 2024

Lubbock, TX

Martin Ortega, Jr., 50, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. He was born on October 27, 1973, in Lubbock, Texas to Aurora Ortega and Martin Ortega, Sr. He was a proud resident of Lubbock, Texas all of his life. Martin loved Lubbock but his love came from the people who lived here.

In 1991, he met Tina Landeros and married in 1993, leading them to have two beautiful children. He loved them with all his heart and took care of them until his last breath.

Martin loved gaming, pets, drawing, and meeting new people. He passed these traits to both of his children, making them who they are and ensuring his memory forever lasts. The only thing that matched his love for his children would be the Dallas Cowboys. Martin fought hard but loved harder. May he rest in peace and drink a beer with God. May he watch over his family, his children, his upcoming grandbaby, and his future family.

Martin is preceded in death by his father Martin Ortega, Sr., his brothers George, Roy Ortega, and Tommy Ortega.

Martin leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother Aurora Ortega, his daughter Dezerey Roberts, his son Rudy Martin Ortega, his sisters Debbie Ortega, Tina Reeve, Lucy Aurora Fleming, and Mary Martinez, his brothers Daniel Ortega, Manuel Ortega, Robert Ortega, and John Ortega, his grandchild Allison Marie Ortega, and a host of other relatives and friends.
