Lee Jerome Bolden 64, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11 am at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Lee Jerome Bolden was born in Lubbock, Texas on June 1, 1960, to the late Ida Marie Austin and to the late Elijah Johnson.
Lee attended Alderson, Jr. High School and Estacado High School after a short stay at Estacado he later graduated from Lubbock High School, after graduating from Lubbock High School he went to serve in the United States Army from August 1978 to 1981. During that time in 1979, God blessed him and Shirley Evans with a beautiful daughter that blessed them with grandchildren, two great grandchildren, he was also blessed to have one stepdaughter, one step son, and one step grandson.
After his stay in Oregon, Lee was blessed with another daughter, who resides in Oregon. Lee had a deep love for his mother Ida, for his siblings, and other family members. Lee looked forward to seeking help with whatever help he needed from his only sister, Elizabeth Austin, was born after his mother married Pastor Eli William Austin, Jr. and from this union two sons joined their family of three.
Lee is preceded in death by his father Elijah Johnosn, “EL”, his mother Ida M. Austin, his grandmother Mrs. Bolden, and his uncle John Lee Bolden.
Lee leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Myra Bolden, his daughters LaShunda Evans-McCullough (Kenneth), Dominique Bolden of Oregon, and his step daughterTanzania King of Lubbock, his step son Tremont Blakemore, his sister Elizabeth Austin of Lubbock, his brothers Charles Bolden (Judy), Thomas Bolden, Larry Bolden (Teresa) of Abilene, Dwayne Austin, and Tim Austin both of Austin, TX, his grandchildren Jeremiah Evans, Cierra Griffin, Tavian Morgan, Jacob Gable, Mekhim McCullough, and Saniah McCullough, his step grandson Ty’air Lewis, his great grandchildren Malcomb Gonzales and Illiana Morgan, his nieces Tawalla (John), Lativia, and Chanity, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Lee will be missed for his love of family, hard work, and diligent.
