Kenneth Johnson, "Peel", departed this life on September 28, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 1 pm at First Progressive Baptist Church. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at Griffin Mortuary from 4pm to 6pm. Kenneth Johnson “Peel” was born to the proud parents of Johnny Johnson Jr, and Joyce Johnson, On March 22, 1969 in Lubbock, Texas. 

Peel Kenneth Johnson attended Parkway Elementary and then went on to Alderson Jr, High School. He graduated from Estacado High in '87. He was a die heart Dallas Cowboy. He was a baseball and softball player. He and his brothers and a group of friends all go shoot pool. If he was somewhere and there was a good game of Domino's going on he was in there. The love he has for his grandkids is unconditional. All his nieces and nephews have a spot in his heart from when they were little until now. He was the jokester and the one that loved a good argument. Him and his niece Denisha (Kena) Johnson are always talking crazy to each other out of love.

Peel worked at the Cotton Gin and his last job was Frontier Dodge, So he started doing his own thing and that was cleaning cars.

Peel was preceded in death by his father Johnny Johnson Jr., Grandfathers Johnny Johnson and Napoleon Freeman. Grandmother Emma Freeman, Brothers Bruce Freeman, Danny McKenzie, Johnny' Pappy' Taylor, Stepdaughter Rosa Harper, Nephew Delance Wade, aunties Carolyn Collins, Uyvonne Scott, Jean Steward, Uncles Rickey Floyd and Carl Bunton.

He leaves to Cherish his memory: His mother Joyce Johnson: Grandmother Ida Mae Knox: Sisters Carla Johnson, Syreeta Taylor: Brothers; Micheal McKenzie, Johnny McKenzie, Iris Wade, Kevin Keno McKenzie, Jeffery Moe Whitfield and Rodgrick Coleman. Stepdaughters; Deleislie Jackson, BrenTauna Man n, TyTianna Mann Step son; Brenton Mann; Grandkids; Bren'yah Mann, Brenton Mann Jr, Jaxyona Johnson, Brentlee Mann, Braylen Mann, Ivy Mann; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, other relatives, and friends.
