John met Bertha Jones in which they were united in marriage on December 3, 1960. John was baptized and attended Lyons Chapel Baptist Church. John was a very quiet man, a man of very few words. So when he spoke everyone listened. John’s hobbies were fishing, racing cars and watching the Dallas Cowboys. John enjoyed traveling and by traveling, he was the main driver! John enjoyed watching a good old western movie. He loved working in his garden out in Wolfforth in which he had pecan trees, peach trees, greens, black-eye peas along with plenty of other fruits and vegetables(as always everyone was welcome to go pick their share). Now, as far as his yard, he had that green thumb winning yard of the month.
