John Wesley Ford

92, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.  Visitations will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Griffin Mortuary Chapel from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1 p.m. at Church of the Blessed. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. John was born on January 20, 1931 to A.B. Pickens and Eddie Ford in Brenham, Texas. John was the oldest son. John worked at WD Turner construction for over 25 years. He officially retired in the year of 2003. Upon retirement, Mr. Ford never stopped working and giving back to his community, willing to help others and perform odd jobs until 2013. No matter what anyone needed, John was right there willing to help and serve whenever he was called upon. Mr. Ford is preceded in death by his parents, his younger brother, Angie Lee Ford and his son, John Edward Ford. He is survived by his wife of 31 years; his wife, Sammantha Ford; his children oldest to youngest, Almeda Ford, Ester Jolivett, Noverll Colbert, Ida White, Glenn Ford, Eugene (Donna) Ford, Deborah (Henry) Crawford, Thomas Ford, Bartholomew Mayberry, and Phylissia (Richard) Brand; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
