Janett Dewberry Bridges

Janett Dewberry Bridges, 59, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Celebration of life Service will be held Monday, March 3, 2025, 2025, at Griffin Mortuary at 1 p.m. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Janett Dewberry was born on June 1st, 1965, in Lubbock and spent time growing up in Tahoka. She graduated from Estacado High School. She then went on to study nursing where she got her Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license at the age of 21. She then went on to have three beautiful children and four grandchildren.

She spent most of her time praising God and teaching her kids about God. She would also cook and feed children that didn’t have much at home even when she didn’t have enough. She was a very happy person who loved to make people laugh. She was truly a bright light around everyone she was around, and will be truly missed.

She is preceded in death by her mother Thelma J. Smith, her biological father Curtis Johnson, her stepdad John Smith, Jr., and her nephew Johnny Taylor.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her stepdad Henry Dewberry, her daughters Shyna Bridges and Lyric Menefee, her son Twayene Jones, her stepson Dwayne Jones, her sisters Jonita Taylor and Bridget Dewberry, her brothers Henry Dewberry, John Smith. Jr., and Lester Dewberry, her grandchildren Eyiniq Jones, Twayne Jones, Jr., Saimiyah Washington-Rhodes, and Keyana Price Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
