Frances Mae Williams, 74, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Griffin Mortuary from 3 to 5 p.m. Frances Mae Williams was born on November 16, 1949, to Roosevelt Busby, and Julia Mae Johnson. She attended Slaton High School. Frances loved to go to church, spend time with her family, loved to sing, and cook. She attended Gospel Chapel AME, then went to Freewill Missionary Baptist Church in Slaton, TX, and relocated to Lubbock, TX to New Generation Community Church were she was the mother of the church.
Frances is preceded in death by her son Matthew Williams, her father Roosevelt Busby, her mother Julia Mae Johnson, and her grandmother Sooky Hargrove, her sisters Rose Nell Stone Busby and Bernice
Frances leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter Myranda Williams, her sons Anthony Busby (Jill) and Joe Busby, her brother Ricky Busby, her nine grandchildren Corey Smith, Jordan Jennings, Kenny Jones, India Jennings, Anthony Busby, Jr., Quinesha Handsbur Craig Busby, Aareion Handsbur, and Quavience Busby, her seven great-grandchildren, her niece Ingrid Busby, her nephews David busby and Johnny Stone, special friends Earnest Smith and Donetta Cox, and a host of other relatives and friends.
