Evan Dean Witt, 52, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, TX. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in his memory at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the requests that donations be made to the American Kidney Fund or the charity of your choice.
Born in Lubbock, TX in 1972, Evan graduated from Firestone High School in Akron, OH. He attended the University of Akron and Texas Tech University. He was a loyal and hardworking employee of Stripes Convenience Stores for 20 years, prior to his paralyzation in 2017.
Evan was a talented artist, avid gamer, lover of science fiction and all kinds of trivia – especially entertainment and historical. He described himself as having “a mind full of information and enjoying it.”
He was a kind and loyal son, brother, husband, friend, step-father, and grandfather, always willing to help where he could and he cherished many friendships.
He is preceded in death by two sisters Emily Witt and Sarah Witt, grandparents Jack and Kathryn Trammel and Dean and Helen Witt.
Evan is survived by his parent Gay Trammel Witt of Lubbock, TX, David and Susan Witt of Akron, OH, his wife Melissa, two step children Everett Locke, Jr. and Autumn Locke, two grandchildren Olivia Locke and Jayven Miller, step siblings Mike Lawrence and his wife Jennifer, Chris Lawrence and his wife Tia, and Cory Kessler and her husband Nate of Akron, OH, as well as a host of nieces and nephews whom he adored, family Cheri and Dick Doyle of Amarillo, TX, Barbara and Bobby Carnes of Lubbock, TX, Melody Herriage of Lubbock, Patti and Gerald Conner, Page and Sam Hall all of Houston, TX, MaxAnn Boone of Nederland, and Leelyn Bishop also of Lubbock, TX and host of other relatives and friends.
