Ellis Atkins, Jr, 65, gained his wings on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11 am at Community Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Ellis Atkins, Jr. was born on July 1, 1959, to the parentage of Ellis, Sr. and Eddie Lee Atkins.

 Ellis attended Bozeman Elementary, Alderson Jr. High, and graduated from Estacado High School in 1977. He worked at Apex Sheet Metal, Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, and later at Llano Logistics until 2016.

 Ellis was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church for several years where he sang in the choir and later moved to Word of Truth where he was a board member and served as head deacon for 19 years.

 Ellis is preceded in death by his younger brother Avery Atkins, his paternal and maternal grandparents.

 Ellis is survived by his parents Ellis, Sr. and Eddie Lee Atkins, his daughter Quenetta Atkins of Lubbock, TX, his two sons Shamodrick (Ambra) Atkins of Fresno, TX and Avonté Atkins of Lubbock, TX, his two grandsons Quedaidrick and Ka’Mal Atkins alos of Lubbock, TX, his two granddaughters YaYa and Sanai Atkins of Fresno, TX, his two brothers Mitchell (Margaret) Atkins also of Lubbock, TX, and Leland (Mornique) Dinwiddie of Austin, TX, his three sisters Lisa (Mark) Culver, Antranette Petties, and Shanna (Donald) Walker all of Lubbock, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends that loved him very much.
