Ellen T. Alexander

Mrs. Ellen Alexander passed away at UMC on Wednesday November 20, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2024. at 11am at Agape Temple C.O.G.I.C. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary. Ellen was born May 27, 1951, in Lubbock Texas to the late Pink Tillmon Jr. and Melvina Rodgers Tillmon. She was one of seven children. 

Ellen attended Lubbock Public Schools and graduated from Dunbar High School in 1971. She was employed by LISD until her retirement. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Alexander, two brothers Ray Charles and James Tillman, two sisters Ethel Mae and Annie Laura Tillman, two grandchildren Marcus Fay and Demodrick Smith.

Surviving to cherish her memories are her children; Byron, Willette, Willie III, Wendell, Ritha, Crystal, Ray Charles Jr, Vivan, Vanessa, Edward (Lolly), Michael (Liz), Shadrach, Meshach, Marie (Val), Benjamin (Cicely) Christopher, Craig, her siblings Cheryl Tillman and David Tillman (Brenda), sister-in-law Belinda Oats Tillman, she has twenty-four grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
