Elijah Patterson

April 15, 1998 — May 27, 2023

Austin

Elijah Patterson, 25 of Austin, devoted son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson, and friend gained his angel wings on Saturday, May 27, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, June 9, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Elijah was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 15, 1998, to mother Kizzie Williams and Charles Patterson. Elijah was the oldest, followed by his sister, Shakana, his brother Tayshaun and his youngest sister Sierra. Elijah was preceded in Death by his grandmother Lucille Patterson and his uncle Ruben. Elijah attended Monterey and Coronado High School in Lubbock up until moving to Round Rock Texas where he attended Cedar Ridge High. Elijah had many friends and never met a stranger. Elijah would always be eager to hang out with his close friends Michael, Jonah, Xzavier. Elijah loved his family deeply. He loved his mother so strongly and passionately. No matter the differences, he didn’t play about his mama. Anything his mother ever needed or wanted; he gave without hesitation. He enjoyed playing video games and laughing at funny scenarios with his little brother Tay and his Dad. He captured the presence and connection he experienced with his little sisters Sierra and Shakana. He loved his grandmother, Mayme Washington & Lucille Patterson very deeply. He’d always hang out with his family, Ashton, Malcolm, Buster and Coney (Shakana) growing up. He was a leader to his young aunties and uncles and even the older ones. He was a lot of people’s favorite because he was so laid back and cool. He’d be like Tupac off Poetic Justice, like “Coussiinnn” even if he didn’t really know you. He’d want to get to know you and accept you in without judgement. He would give any one the shirt off his back without hesitation and he valued the underdogs. Elijah was a passionate leader who searched to find the truth about life. He wanted more than the material things and lifestyles. As long as he could use his feet, he’d go explore the world around him. He had the most caring mindset and heartwarming soul that anyone would’ve been blessed to experience. Elijah was a culinary cook at Pappadeaux Seafood Restaurant. He often played video games and loved to binge watch Youtube videos during his free time. He always thought outside the box and strived to be different. He loved comedy and enjoyed acts by Charleston White, HaHa Davis, his own father, Charles Patterson, and more. His favorite rapper was Lil Wayne, and he never subjected himself to one genre. As long as it made him feel good, made him think, laugh, and let his emotions come to life, he’d listen to it and play it nonstop. He loved science, he was an amazing artist, and loved to sing and dance like no one was watching. His delightful-comedic energy was felt in every room. His contagious smile could blind the stars and his pearl-white teeth were enough to light the moon. He was a problem-solver, a shoulder-to-cry-on, but he could also be a lawyer and hold court with you about any topic just to pull your strings, if you let him. He had many careers in his personality, he never needed the education because he had the wisdom instilled in him at birth, from God to be great. Most importantly, Elijah was a devoted spiritual seeker, and gave his life to Jesus Christ when he got baptized. There’s so much more that can be described about Elijah, however, his story isn’t finished as he is now completing God’s work with many other Angels of people we’ve lost. We will miss him deeply. We know this isn’t the final goodbye. We will meet him again and he will tell us all about it and we will be relieved to know he’s been with God and the other angels. Spirits hold more weight than the flesh. As long as you have the spirit of God, you will forever live on. Elijah lives on. Forever Young 💙
