Doris Parrish

Doris Parrish, our beloved mother, died on Sunday, December 10, 2023  at the age of 62 years old. Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Ford Memorial COGIC. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held Monday, December 18, 2023, at Griffin Mortuary from 4 to 6 p.m. Doris was born on March 17, 1961 in Lubbock, Texas to Timothy James Johnson and Geraldine Johnson. Doris was the eldest of six children. She attended school in Lubbock, Texas. Doris professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a student of God’s Word. Doris loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also had many friends and would lend a helping hand. Doris had a heart of gold. Doris was a second mom to her siblings when MOTHER was gone. She loved cleaning and cooking was her passion. Her very first job was working with her mother at John Knox as a cook. She also served as the Head Cook at Denny’s Restaurant. Later, Doris worked as a C.N.A. which was also her passion.
