The epitome of a woman of faith and a servant’s heart. Dora Mae Robinson transitioned to heaven on Thursday, July 6, 2023.  After living a long, beautiful life of 92 years.  Funeral services will be held at Griffin Mortuary on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Viewing will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Griffin Mortuary from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dora Mae Parks Robinson was born to Wade and Dora Parks on October 2, 1930, in Pflugerville, Texas. She moved with her family to Lubbock at the age of 9. She met and married the love of her life, a man in the armed services, Sidney Robinson in 1954. Who served in World War II and Korea War.  They would go on to raise six girls in Lubbock, TX. Mrs. Robinson was an avid churchgoer. She became a member of St Luke Baptist Church in 1950.  While at St Luke Baptist Church, she was an usher, a member of the choir, and a mission lady.   She would raise all six of her children in this church. Mrs. Robinson was well known for her well-made and tasty cakes she would often make and bring to the church. Mrs. Robinson would also provide meals to members of the church that were sick and shut-in.  Often delivering meals for Wheels on Meals with her bonus sister Katie Parks. Every Saturday Mrs. Robinson would host missionary meetings in her parlor. Her other hobbies included fishing, reading her bible, spending time with her family, and jokingly giving everyone a hard time. Mrs. Robinson is preceded in death by her Parents: Wade and Dora Robinson. Siblings: Valce Parks, Wade “Bubba” Parks, James “D” Parks, Mack Parks, Jessie Parks, Buela Parks, Elnora “Tommie” Parks Johnson, Gertrude “Nina” Parks, Ora Faye Carraway.  Daughters: Gertrude Hawkins-Miles, Myra Robinson, Pam Robinson, and Thelma Robinson. Her Grandchildren: Michi Parks and Thomas M Jackson. 
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Nancy Travenia and Betty Robinson. Her Grandchildren: Deitra Jackson, Ashlie Jackson, and Sydney Travenia. Great grandchildren: J’Von Taylor, Octavia Jackson, Damien Jackson, Giavonni Jackson, Thelma Jackson, Quentin Johnson, Kyaia Travenia, and Makai Travenia; great-great grandchildren: Katelyn Mendoza- Taylor and Kinze Mendoza-Taylor; a host of other relatives and friends.
