On February 22, 2024, our precious angel, De'Mari Princeton Walker, gained his wings and left our world far too soon. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 at 1 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Born on June 7, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas, to his loving parents, Deshawn "Bubba" Walker Jr. and Tatianna Phillips, De'Mari brought an abundance of joy and happiness to everyone around him. Affectionately nicknamed "Mr. Stinks" by his adoring Aunts, De'Mari's memory is intertwined with the love and laughter he brought into their lives.
De'Mari is now protected in death by his Great Uncles, Christopher "C.J." Jones and De'Anthony "Pookie" Turman, who surely welcomed him with open arms in heaven. He leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished by his grieving family.
He is survived by his parents: Deshawn "Bubba" Walker Jr. and Tatianna Phillips; two brothers: Kayden and Deshawn "Lil Bubba"; three sisters: Tiyana, Ta'Niya, and Legacy.
De'Mari's memory will forever be held in the hearts of five uncles: Tevin Jones, Christopher "C.J." Jones, Kamarion Johnson, Lubbock, TX. Jordan Scott, and Russell Foots Kansas City, MO; and two aunts: Shantavia and Shauntonia Walker, Lubbock, TX.
His paternal grandparents, Deshawn Walker Sr. of Odessa, TX, and Rutonia Evans of Lubbock, TX, and Jamie Hood, along with maternal grandparents Walter Jones (Daronda) of Lubbock, TX, and Jessica Phillips of Kansas City, MO, mourn the loss of their beloved grandchild.
De'Mari is also remembered by his paternal great-grandparents, Ernest and Ruby "Gan Gan" Simmons, Janice and Danny McCall, and maternal great-grandparents: Billy Joe Bruner of Oklahoma City, OK; Cynthia "Cindy" Ivey, and Martha Kay Turman, both of Lubbock, TX. and Maternal great-great-grandparents Jerry and Alma Colquitt also join the extended family grieving the loss of this precious soul.
As we say our farewells to De'Mari, we hold onto the beautiful memories of his radiant smile and the joy he brought to our lives. May he rest in eternal peace, forever our little angel, affectionately known as "Mr. Stinks," watching over us.
