Darlene Pitts

Darlene Pitts, 65, departed this life on earth on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, February 7, 2025, at 1pm at Community Baptist Church. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Thursday, February 6th, 2025, from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary. 

Darlene Pitts affectionately known as “Donna” was born on December 31st, 1959, in Lubbock, TX to Homer and Clara Pitts. She attended Lubbock Public School. Donna wasemployed at USDA for 30 plus years before her health began to decline. She loved spending time with family and playing bingo. Donna had a love for cooking, listening to music, dancing, and most importantly helping others. Darlene never had any biological children of her own, but she had a heart full of lover for her nieces and nephews that she dearly loved and raised as her own.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Homer Sr. and Clara Pitts, her sister Margaret Ann Pitts, and her brother Homer Pitts, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, the love of her life Freddie Earl Hayes of Lubbock, TX, her sisters Thelma McBrewer and Antoinette Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
