Clarence Edward Blaylock, 88 passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Clarence was born to the parentage of Joe Adam Blaylock and Elizabeth Johnson on November 30, 1935 in Cameron, Texas. He was the third oldest of 6 siblings. During his early years of school in Cameron, he met and married Helen G. Westbrook, whose 5 children were born to this union. Clarence went on to work to provide for his family, Clarence was a good father, and husband, although Clarence and Helen divorced. Clarence later moved to Midland to be with his mother and siblings. He started a new life there. Later, in life he became a faithful man to God and started attending church every Sunday. Clarence loved God and talked often of Him. Clarence later moved to Lubbock, Texas to be with his daughter and grandchildren. Clarence enjoyed church until he could no longer attend due to his heath. Clarence is preceded in death by his father Joe A. Blaylock, mother Eizabeth Johnson, three sisters, four children who were deceased upon birth. Clarence leaves to cherish his memory, Patricia Blaylock and Debra Blaylock both of Lubbock, TX, Monique Blaylockof Iowa, sister Dorothy Maxwell of Waco, TX, brother Meredith Blaylock of Midland, TX, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
