Christie Y. Gray

Christie Y. Gray, 65, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11 am at Bible Baptist, Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Christie Y. Gray was born in Lockney, TX on July 18, 1959, to the parents of Dovie and Jimmy Dale Derry Berry. Later she attended Floydada High School.

Christie was baptized at an early age and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.

She was a loving kindergarten and elementary teacher and soon to become a CNA nurse until retirement.

Some of Christie hobbies that she really enjoyed were fishing, traveling, and thrift shopping.

Christie is preceded in death by her parents Dovie and Jimmy Dale Derry Berry, her brother Ricky Derry Berry, and her son Justin Tyler.

Christie leaves behind her daughters Arqushia Gray, Amy Pierce, and Jennifer Davis (Jason), her brothers Dale Derry Berry (Vickie) and Bobby Derry Berry (Deanna), her sister Patricia Applegate (Randy), spouse Lester Dixon, her two dogs Sugar and Itty Bitty, 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
