Charles Ray Clay, 67, entered into his eternal rest on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11am at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Charles Ray Clay born on February 15, 1957, to Jim Nelson Clay and Doris Ray Dixon. On May 6, 1982, Charles Ray Clay married Glenda White to this union two sons and two daughters were born.
He attended school here in Lubbock graduating from Estacado High School. He was a son, brother, husband, uncle and a friend. Charles enjoyed talking and visiting friends and family. His hobbies included dominoes and making money. The thing that brought him joy was his family and friends.
Charles worked as much as he could from the age of 15 until his health changed. He worked at LPNL, TI, Lubbock State School, and Freeman Flowers for 22 yrs.
Our loving father passed away on October 30, 2024.
Charles is preceded in death by his father Jim Nelson Clay, his mother Doris Ray Dixon, his brother Kenneth Clay, his sisters Linda Clay and Denise Clay, his stepson Treginale White.
Charles leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Glenda Clay, his daughters LaVonda Hightower and Tynisha Clay, his stepson Roderick White, his sister Brenda Clay-Hagler, his brothers Willie Clay (Mae) and Calvin Clay (Yolanda), his grandchildren Treginale Jones, Ra’Nya Jones, Samiah Jones, and Mattison Hightower, his great grandchild Ra’Cai Taylor, his nieces Tamara Clay (Kortney), Tameka Jacobs (Kenneth), Shannice Clay, and Dejaunica Clay, his nephews Sparticus Clay (Tiffany), Marquis Clay, Kenneth Clay (Chanta), and Aamahd clay; and a host of other relatives and friends.
