Bernice Marie Patterson

Bernice Marie Patterson, 74, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Bernice Marie Patterson was born on June 24, 1949 to Bernice Busby. She worked in home health for many years. She loved working, cooking, and hanging out with friends Cat and Alice Fay. She also had three special cousins that would go and visit her while she was in the nursing home until death, those special cousins was Margie and Billie Lou, James “Fatman” and his wife Darlene. Bernice was a great woman in her own skin, no different from any other woman but the same. She had a heart of gold for anyone and was ready to help out in any way. She was raised around nothing but boys so she was ruff and tuff and fit right in and that’s how she got her name “Rooster”. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Willie Edward Adkison and Ricky J. Busby, son, George Henry Wilbon, Jr., daughters, Dorothy Ann Wilbon and Tanisha Wilson, grandson, Daniel Wilbon. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brothers, Leo Eddington and Ray Goodson, grandchildren Derrick Wilbon (April) and nine more grandchildren, great grandchildren Daijon Wilbon and Daetrun Wilbon, nieces Keisha Vonner and Susie Mcdade, nephews Kenneth Shed and George Adkison, a host of other relatives and friends.
