Ardie Mae Anderson Langston, 67, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, at 2 pm at Faith First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary.
Ardie Mae Anderson Langston, born on February 20, 1957, to KY and Loletha Anderson, graced this world with her presence and warmth. Growing up in Ralls, Texas, Ardie was a proud graduate of Ralls High School, where she shone as a talented athlete, excelling in both basketball and track.
From a young age, Ardie was introduced to a life of faith. She first joined Lyons Chapel Baptist Church, where she sang joyfully in the choir, and demonstrated unwavering commitment to Sunday School. Later, she united with First Progressive Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated partner. Ardie’s family was the cornerstone of her life. Known for her calming presence, she was the peacemaker within her family, always prioritizing her children and grandchildren, who were her greatest treasures. Her warmth and kindness touched all who knew her.
Ardie was preceded in death by her beloved father, KY Anderson, Sr., her brother KY Anderson, Jr., and her son, Anthony Dewayne Dupree.
Her legacy lives on through her cherished family: her mother, Loletha Anderson of Ralls, lives on through her cherished family: her mother, Loletha Anderson of Ralls, TX; brothers, Willie Paul Anderson of St. Louis, Missouri, Tony Anderson (Carmen), and Harold Anderson (Gloria) of Lubbock, TX; sisters, Debbie Anderson and Mary Gray of Ralls, TX; children, Christopher Michael Anderson of Lubbock, TX and Candace Laniece Dupree of Mesquite, TX; her treasured grandchildren, Chauncey Dupree, Chad Dupree, and Chance Dupree of Plano, TX, Jaden Wilkerson of Princeton, TX, Cyng Dupree and Zamaya Dupree of Mesquite, TX.
Additionally, she leaves behind her aunt and uncle, First Lady Ambra and Pastor Kenneth Jackson of Floydada, TX; her bonus children, Greg Akers, Chad Punch, De’NItra Calhoun, Ruthesia Searcy, and Trayci Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives; and her special friend, Dr. Amanda Banks.
Ardie’s life was a testament to love, faith, and family. She touched the hearts of all who knew her, and her spirit will forever be remembered and cherished.
