Alana Evette Howard, "Laney" 47, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Bethel AME Church. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Viewing will be held Friday, April 21, 2023, at Griffin Mortuary from 4 to 6 p.m. Alana Evette Howard, affectionately known as Laney, was born on April 20, 1975, to Joby Robinson and Imesia J. Howard. As a young child Alana accepted Christ. New Hope God in Christ in Seattle WA, later moved to Dallas, TX and joined St. Luke AME in Garland, Texas under the leadership of Charles Franklin and was baptized. Alana graduated from Rainier Beach High School in Seattle WA public schools on June 9, 2009. As she pursued her college professional education in Tukwila, WA. As followed HIV/Aids Awareness with the state of Washington Department of Health and OSHA Regulations, March 21, 1998. Alana graduated June 9, 1998, as a M.A. Level A, BC & E, EKG Tech -1 Phlebotomist. As she continued her education in Dallas, TX, she worked with cardiologist and allergy specialist. She also attended Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. Alana loved the Lord and would teach Bible Study out of her house for the neighborhood kids as she fed them well. She would always spread the word of the Lord to everyone. Alana loved to scrap as she was launching a small business called “Sweet Harmony.” She was approved for some of her admiration by some of her followers which are Tamela Mann (gospel singer), Dr. Simone Whitmore (Married to Medicine), Kandi Burruss Tucker (Real Housewives of Atlanta, singer, and actor), and Yandy Smith-Harris (Actor) and just to name a few. Alana was always giving to the needy. Alana is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Troy Howard, Jr.; maternal aunt, Eva Lois Mooreing-Mims, maternal uncle, Roy Lee Howard, paternal grandfather, Clyde Robinson; and paternal grandmother, Johnnie Robinson. Alana leaves to cherish her memory; her father, Joby Robinson; her mother, Imesia J. Howard (Greg); maternal grandmother, Ruth Jean Howard; her son, Christopher H. Howard (Lashavia B. Woodard); her sisters, Zanderia Davis (Reginald), Tamara Shanee Bass, Zakia Evans, and Tameka Riley; her brothers, Latremont McCutchin, Sr. and Marquis Cannon; close uncles and aunts, Elston “Troy” Howard (Genette) and Glenda Fay Howard Cleaveland (Horace, Jr.); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
