Abdul M. Ahmad

Abdul M. Ahmad, also known as William Lynn Ward, 68 departed this life on Friday, March 16th, 2023. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 10, 2023, at 1 p.m., at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Abdul was born on June 11, 1954, to Lester & Mary Ward of Lubbock, Tx. He graduated from Estacado High School in 1972.  He also joined the Muslim faith, and he legally changed his name to Abdul Ahmad.  Abdul moved to Arizona and built a family before returning to Lubbock, TX.  He was proud of his proclaimed business of “Tuff E Nuff” Shoetritionist Services.  He was widely known throughout the city for his excellent skill in caring for shoes & boots.  For over 35 years, he also maintained many of the lawns & landscaping of the East side.  He was known to be a laid-back kind of guy with a smile always on his face. He is preceded in death by both parents and daughter, Nailah Ahmad.  He is survived by his daughter, Maisa Ahmad, son, Tabari Ahmad, grandchildren, Kiante Ahmad-Woods, Terell Santos, Andre Santos, Ahmarr Blanco, Alexis Blanco all of Seattle, WA., two brothers, Roy James Soders of Arlington, TX, and Tony Ward of Houston, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many friends.
